How to Calculate UPSC CDS 2 2025 Answer Key

To calculate the UPSC CDS 2 2025 answer key, the candidate must visit the official website, even from MKC’s website.


The CDS 2 2025 mathematics section and GAT section marking scheme are as follows: 


  1. For each correct answer, 2.5 marks will be awarded for the mathematics section and 4 marks for GAT.

  2. There is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every incorrect answer for the mathematics section and 0.33 marks for the GAT section.

  3. If any question is unattempted, then there is no negative marking. 

  4. Make sure to cross-check the answer from the official answer key. 

  5. Calculate the total number of correct and incorrect answers. 

  6. For each correct answer, multiply each correct answer by the marks awarded for each. 

  7. For each incorrect answer, multiply it by the negative marking. 

  8. The last step to get the final score is to deduct the marks of incorrect answers from the correct marks. Then the final score will be obtained. 


Formula: Final Score = (Correct Answers × Marks per Question) – (Wrong Answers × Negative Marks)

Example (IMA candidate):

  • English: 80 correct, 20 wrong → (80×0.83) – (20×0.27) = 66.4 – 5.4 = 61

  • GK: 60 correct, 30 wrong → (60×0.83) – (30×0.27) = 49.8 – 8.1 = 41.7

  • Maths: 70 correct, 20 wrong → (70×1) – (20×0.33) = 70 – 6.6 = 63.4

Total = 61 + 41.7 + 63.4 = 166.1 / 300
