Choosing a career in the Indian Armed Forces is a dream for thousands of young aspirants who wish to serve the nation with pride and honor.

However, every defence examination, such as NDA, CDS, and AFCAT, has specific eligibility criteria related to age limit, gender criteria, educational qualification, and marital status.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for Defence Exams

Understanding who can apply and the complete requirements under defence exam eligibility in India is the first step towards a successful defence career.

This guide simplifies the important aspects like nationality, physical fitness, and medical standards so that candidates can check their eligibility before starting their preparation.

The eligibility criteria for defence exams are as follows:

To apply for any defence exam, candidates must meet strict nationality requirements. Generally, candidates should be citizens of India

Certain exams, like NDA and some CDS entries, also allow subjects of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, are eligible under specific conditions.

Additionally, candidates of Indian origin from other countries may apply if they provide valid PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) certificates.
