India’s Defence System has taken a step forward by a significant innovation- a Bengaluru based company has unveiled a cutting-edge unmanned combat drone that will enhance the nation’s military capabilities.
Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace has introduced the “Autonomous Aerial Aircraft” which is a next generation UCAV designed for both surveillance and strike mission, as a part of the government’s “Make in India” initiative.
This innovation not only underscores India’s push toward self-reliance in high-tech military equipment, but also reflects the strength of India’s private defence.

Stealth UCAV unveiled: Made in India

Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace, a Bengaluru based company, in an exciting development for India’s Defence and Aerospace industry, has introduced a new prototype of an advanced combat drone named “Autonomous Aerial Aircraft”.

The innovation of this unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) is a major significant step in India’s efforts to build its own military technology.

The prototype of UCAV was revealed at an event which was a part of the Indian government’s initiative- “Make in India”, that was held at Flying Wedge’s own facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

This initiative taken by the government promotes domestic manufacturing and aims to reduce reliance on foreign defence equipment.

The UCAV project was led by Suhas Tejaskanda, the founder of Flying Wedge.

The characteristics of the drone includes a sleek, modern design with sharp angles and a matte black finish, suggesting that it has been built for stealth which helps avoid detection and agility which is crucial for combat missions.

It may be able to perform both spying and fighting roles as its shape reveals that which is similar to surveillance and reconnaissance drones.

One of its more significant features includes autonomy which clearly demonstrates that it is designed to fly, navigate, and carry out missions on its own using advanced systems.

This clearly concludes that this drone can potentially engage with targets and complete the tasks with minimum human control.

Experts believe that this would become a powerful asset for the Indian military, although the specific technical details have not been revealed yet.

Hence, the innovation of this drone marks a significant move towards indigenous defence capabilities which is the main goal of the government’s initiative.
