In an important step toward building stronger defence ties between India and Japan, the Chief of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, and the Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, General Yasunori Morishita, held a detailed discussion through a video call on Friday.
The two senior military leaders spoke at length about how both countries can work more closely in the defence sector.

They also talked about how their armed forces can collaborate better, not just through existing partnerships but by finding new ways to work together.
One of the major points of the conversation was how both nations can launch joint military initiatives that will help improve regional peace and security.
With rising security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond, the leaders discussed the importance of unity and cooperation between like-minded countries like India and Japan.
