Jodhpur Hosts India-Singapore Military Drill, July 27–Aug 4

India and Singapore are coming together once again for a joint military exercise called “Exercise Bold Kurukshetra.”

This special training event will be held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from July 27 to August 4, 2025.

This is the 14th edition of this joint exercise, which shows how strong and long-standing the defence cooperation between India and Singapore is.

The aim of this exercise is to improve how both countries’ armies work together, especially during peacekeeping missions under the United Nations (UN) mandate.

On the Singapore side, the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment, which is part of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade, will be taking part.

From India, the Mechanised Infantry Regiment of the Indian Army will participate.

The entire exercise will be carried out in two main ways:

  1. Tabletop exercise – This involves discussing and planning military strategies and scenarios without using actual equipment.

  1. Computer-based wargame – This is a simulated training using computer programs to practice battle techniques, especially for mechanised warfare, which involves tanks and other armored vehicles.

The main goal of this setup is to test and validate the procedures and plans that both armies would follow during actual operations involving armored vehicles.

This ensures that both sides can work smoothly and efficiently together if the need ever arises.

At the end of the exercise, the Indian Army will also put on an equipment display, showcasing its modern military technology and hardware.

One symbolic moment during the event will be the handing over of the regimental flag by the 42

Singapore Armoured Regiment to the Indian Army contingent.

This represents a formal transfer of command to the Indian side for the duration of the exercise, and it’s a gesture of trust and unity between the two friendly nations.

According to the Indian Defence Ministry, Exercise Bold Kurukshetra 2025 is not just about training but also about strengthening the deep-rooted defence relationship between India and Singapore.

It will help both armies understand each other better, learn from one another, and collaborate more effectively at both the tactical (on the ground) and strategic (overall planning) levels.
