The Indians that have been found residing illegally in Bangladesh, will be returned back through diplomatic and lawful means. Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Advisor, Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury laid great stress upon this particular issue as he urged the Indian government to refrain from forced “push-ins” and cooperate through official procedure.

These comments were made by Chowdhary on Saturday during the inauguration of a third floating Border Outpost in the southwestern district of Satkhira.
He reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to resolving cross-border issues through diplomatic procedures rather than autonomous actions as he added that “Bangladesh does not practice push-ins like India does. We respect and follow international laws and protocols,”according to state news agency BSS and The Dhaka Tribune.
The adviser further disclosed the communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and New Delhi regarding this matter.
He further noted that Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain and Khalilur Rahman, the National Security Adviser and High Representative on Rohingya Affairs to the Chief Adviser, are leading the diplomatic efforts.
Chowdhury laid stress upon the fact that if any Indian citizen is found living in Bangladesh without legal documentation would be sent back through appropriate diplomatic engagements.
Bangladeshi citizens in India without proper authorization should be relocated to Bangladesh through mutual understanding and legal cooperation, he emphasized.
Chowdhury claimed that an attempt had been made by Indian authorities to push individuals across the border near Brahmanbaria on Friday by referring to a recent incident.
By coordinated efforts of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar personnel, and alert local residents, their move was disrupted according to the reports.
“If the local community stands together, such attempts can be effectively resisted,” he concluded his press briefing by encouraging the communities near the border to stay attentive and united to prevent unauthorized entries.
