The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the CDS 2 application form on May 20. The CDS 2 apply online link will remain active from May 20 to June 9, 2026, only at upsc.gov.in. Interested and eligible candidates should submit their applications before the last date.

As per the CDS 2 notification 2026, the CDS 2 exam will take place on September 13, 2026. Candidates whose applications are found in order will only be called to appear in this exam. CDS 2 Application Form 2026 Out

UPSC has invited applications to fill 451 vacancies through the Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2026. Candidates are required to apply online through the official website at upsconline.nic.in. The CDS 2 application form link will remain active from May 20 to June 9 (6:00 pm). Applications will not be accepted through any other mode.

The CDS 2 2026 will be conducted on 13 September 2026 for admission to the under-mentioned courses:

• Indian Military Academy, Dehradun -163rd (DE) Course commencing in July 2027.
• Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala - Course commencing in July 2027, Executive Branch (General Service)/Hydro.
• Air Force Academy, Hyderabad - (Pre-Flying) Training Course commencing in July 2027, i.e. 222 F(P) Course. 
• Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 126th SSC (Men) (NT) (UPSC) Course Commencing in October, 2027
• Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 126th SSC Women (NT) (UPSC) Course commencing in October, 2027

The CDS 2 apply online link is active now. The online application can be filled out up to 9th June, 2026, till 6:00 P.M., after which the link will be disabled. Documents Required for CDS 2 Application Form 2026

Candidates should have all the required documents to complete the application process smoothly. They need to upload certain documents in the prescribed format at the time of application. The list of documents and details required for the CDS 2 application form is:

• Matriculation Board / Equivalent Certificate 
• Photo ID (Aadhaar / Photo ID) 
• Caste Certificate
• Disability Certificate
• PwD / PwBD recommendation certificate
• Signature
• Photo
• Bachelor Marksheet
• Bachelor’s degree certificate
• Age Relaxation Certificate, etc

Note: 

• Candidates must upload their photograph and also capture their live photograph while filling out the Common Application Form (CAF). 
• They must ensure that the uploaded photograph and the live photograph captured are clear as per instructions given on “Instructions and FAQs > Instruction for filling the form > Photos and Signature” available on the official website.
• Candidates are required to sign three times (one below the other) on plain white paper using black ink and upload the same while filling out the Common Application Form (CAF). 
• The uploaded signatures should be clear and legible. They must refer to the instructions for uploading the signature available under the header “Instructions and FAQs” on the official website.

How to Fill the CDS 2 Application Form 2026?

The CDS 2 application form is divided into stages, i.e. Account Creation, Universal Registration, Common Application Form, etc. UPSC provides a one-time facility for candidates to update or modify their Universal Registration Number (URN) profile. 

Any changes made to the URN Profile will not be reflected in applications already submitted. You must fill out the application form and upload the required documents in the prescribed format within the deadline.

• Go to the official website at upsconline.nic.in in your browser.
• Click “CDS 2 Apply Online Link” on the homepage.
• Click on the “Account Creation” link.
• Click on the “Proceed for Account Creation” button to continue.
• Enter your Email ID & Mobile Number and then verify.
• Create a password for successful account creation.
• Login using 3 methods, i.e. Mobile Number and OTP ii. URN and Password (URN will be available after completion of Universal Registration) iii. Email ID and Password.
• Enter your Mobile Number and OTP, URN and Password or Email ID and Password along with the captcha verification, and then click the Sign In button to proceed. 
• Click the “Proceed for Universal Registration” button to continue. 
• Fill out the form with details like Identity Profile, Aadhaar / Photo ID, and Universal Registration Number (URN) Generation.
• Once you have verified all the data, you can click the 'Lock and Submit' button to complete your Universal Registration and generate the URN. 
• The Common Application Form has 10 profiles/modules. Fill out the entire form with all the required details.
• Go to the 'Examinations' dropdown and click on the 'Apply for Examination' link after completing the CAF. 
• To apply for any exam, click on the 'Apply' button. 
• After clicking the 'Apply' button, lock your CAF data for that particular examination 
• Now, fill out the Exam Specific forms, choose the preferred exam centres, and pay the application fees.
• Save the confirmation copy and payment receipt for future reference.

CDS 2 Application Form Fees 2026

Candidates are required to pay the application fees using a Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment. The category-wise application fees are as follows:

• Other Categories: Rs 200
• Female/SC/ST candidates: Exempted
